The Freek Show gets into the Halloween spirit.

| .....And finally, despite continual news coverage on Pixie Stix scares and the sagging spirit of Halloween, the seasonal party scene was in full swing over the weekend. Although enticed by such horror-themed happenings as a "bizarre vampire bazaar" at the Queen Mary and a spooky night of "nightclub puppetry" at the Palace Theater, it was Freek Show's diehard addiction to roller-disco that lured us to Space Is the Place at World on Wheels on Saturday. We're certain that watching clowns, a guy in a Devo jumpsuit, and various '70s superheroines skating to "Double Dutch Bus" was much less frightening than witnessing the return of Courtney Love onstage at the Hollywood Bowl. Now, can somebody please explain to us why so many roller skating hits contain the word "freak?" |
